23/09/2013 23:49

Everyone needs some vacations from time to time. last month I have been traveling Europe sightseing and checking ports, airports, logistics, entrepreneurship. for the next weeks I will probably consolidate some pictures, and reports about my experience. of course that it will be from a Brazilian perspective.

I am also moving to Vigo, so I am really sorry if I do not post it frequently. as soo as possible, I will post more frequently.

What happened to OGX and Eike Batista????

25/07/2013 21:55

OGX, the Oil company of Eike Batista, just went from BRL6,73 per share to BRL 0,56 today.

That brings us to the question: “What the hell happened to OGX?”

This company went to market before going operational in a very competitive market wich is oil prospection and exploration.  After one year and close to it’s operational level, they discovered that their oil deposits could end next year.

So for those who are starting to invest, I would recommend mr. Buffet advise: “Invest if you believe at the product and the company, because if the product and the company are good, you will succeed”

Creative process.

In this video, made by Fast company, Baratunde Thurston, CEO and cofounder of https://www.cultivatedwit.com/ discuss about his own creative process and how to add efforts in a group for better ideas.

Personally I agree with the idea of making the team think at the same subject and discuss their ideas after hours or couple of days preparation.

Leave your comments and let us know what is your best creativity process and how you invite people to discuss and create better solutions to your company.

Endeavour and Entrepreneurship part 1

23/07/2013 00:20

I’m planning a trip to Europe, not only for vacations, I have applied into a German Course and will visit the Frankfurt auto show this September, also meet and drink with a couple of business partners.

Traveling is also a good way to see the world from different perspective. I met my girlfriend in a intercontinental travel (unfortunately  she was the one who was traveling  for her doctorate research) now we’re 8.300 km far from each other and with a schedule of 33 days for our next date.

Bad news: when we meet again it will have passed 68 days from our last date.

Good news: just few personalities have the guts to schedule a date in other continent. It’s the kind of thing that makes you feel more like James Bond or Tony Stark (the Iron Man).

And she deserves that. This Spanish lady is the kind of super partner that I’ll always want around, she is my super power fountain.

Wanting her around makes me constantly think about ways so we can get together and share our lives. Well, the human nature makes us constantly adapt and overcome adversities. In other words, it creates entrepreneurship.

That is not a breaking news that Spain and many other coutries in Europe are facing a great adversity time. Searching a job there in a conventional way would be a way to failure (I’m not excluding any possibility)   On the other hand, the girl shall not come to Brazil until she finishes her contract on 2014 October.

So I’ll try to take the best from it and start this Entrepreneurship serie, talking about my travel plan, the opportunities I identify

For now, I’ll  let some of the opportunities that I might develop for the next months:

You shall read those at: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/41846#ixzz2Zpq9bmoz

·         Export management company (EMC): An EMC handles export operations for a domestic company that wants to sell its product overseas but doesn't know how (and perhaps doesn't want to know how). The EMC does it all--hiring dealers, distributors and representatives; handling advertising, marketing and promotions; overseeing marking and packaging; arranging shipping; and sometimes arranging financing. In some cases, the EMC even takes title to the goods, in essence becoming its own distributor. EMCs usually specialize by product, foreign market or both, and--unless they've taken title--are paid by commission, salary or retainer plus commission.

·         Export trading company (ETC): While an EMC has merchandise to sell and is using its energies to seek out buyers, an ETC attacks the other side of the trading coin. It identifies what foreign buyers want to spend their money on and then hunts down domestic sources willing to export. An ETC sometimes takes title to the goods and sometimes works on a commission basis.

·         Import/export merchant: This international entrepreneur is a sort of free agent. He has no specific client base, and he doesn't specialize in any one industry or line of products. Instead, he purchases goods directly from a domestic or foreign manufacturer and then packs, ships and resells the goods on his own. This means, of course, that unlike the EMC, he assumes all the risks (as well as all the profits).

Brazilians way of cheering up

11/07/2013 00:04

This saturday we faced the UFC champion Anderson Silva on a terrible fight. not the shadow of what it used to be. Ok on any other country, it would have been only a bad fight, but things does not happen like this in Brazil. Brazil has no such fidelity to it heros. Now you're thinking: "How does it can be applied to Brazilian Market?"

simple, Brazilians do not like loosers, except at football where Brazilians cheers up for the same team they chose from childhood.

if you commit a mistake, proceed or position on a wrong way, you'll be facing a knock out and will have to fight to get back to your basic position, working on a good strategy and considering the diversity of Brazilian culture are crucial to be a winner. focusing on a reliable group, working for them, keeping them always in your radar and being rumble enough to not suffer the pressure of always win, you'll be a winner in Brazil. if you do everything but don't keep rumble, you'll position yourself and your company on a always win pressure. Compare the failure of nderson Silva to the Failure of X companies the lack of Eike Batista compassion to Brazilian people have created some animosity and Brazilians were expecting such failure.

Besides what Sun Tzu said, no one wins 100% of batles.

Nice tips to start the day at full speed.

About 9th july Holiday

09/07/2013 16:50

Today is a Holiday in São Paulo state. It's the day we remember the revolution of 1932, the one responsible for a new constitution, and a better country in the next years.

The below image is the “Obelisco do Ibirapuera”. It is the memorial of this revolution and should be a symbol of the power of the people to change their lives and their environment into something better.

About the protests in Brazil

22/06/2013 20:59

Over the last days we have experienced a massive mobilization and protests against corruption, against PEC 37, R$0,20 increase over bus fares. Maybe you have heard also against gay cure project, against world cup.

Talking about Brazilian people is not the main objective of this website, but as it is probably a massive breakthrough of Brazilian people to a better and changed Brazil,  affecting Brazilian market, I’ll try explain from time to time what’s happening in Brazil:

To organize the group to allow government to start acting instead of complaining, non government groups and small groups suggest asking smaller changes and electing 5 causes each time.

They’re demanding:

  1. Reject PEC 37.  - wich is a Project that If aproved Will change Brazilian constitution to inhibit investigations made by the “Ministério Público” the same government organ that had investigated successfully corruption cases as operations “mensaleiros” and “Anaconda”.
  2. Take Renan Calheiros, which is a criminal condemned by corruption, out of the Presidency of Brazilian Congress.
  3. Immediate investigation over the high, overrated costs of World Cup Constructions
  4. Turn corruption a heinous crime, this way the condemned and charged would be actually arrested, and maybe doesn’t come back to the congress.
  5. Stop “foro privilegiado” that allows politicians act unpunished. (Today only the Supreme court can judge politicians, unfortunately the judges are chosen by the politicians that they will judge.)

Below you can watch a video about how a Brazilian feels about FIFA World Cup and it stadiums.
